Entravision posted a 25% drop in net revenue to $41.7 million from $55.6 million in 2008. The Spanish-language broadcaster's radio segment fell a whopping 31% to $13.4 million from $19.5 million. The company reported a net loss of $14.4 million (17 cents per diluted share) as compared to a net loss of $7 million (7 cents) in the year-ago period.
Chairman/CEO Walter F. Ulloa said, "Our results in the quarter reflect the continuing recession and the challenging environment for businesses, such as ours, that are dependent upon advertising revenue. We are continuing to aggressively manage our costs to maximize our cash flows. Our television and radio operations continue to deliver solid ratings in the nation's most densely-populated Hispanic markets. We believe we are well positioned to benefit when the economy recovers."
