Northern Kentucky University Acquires Ohio Trio


Northern Kentucky University is purchasing Country WPFB-FM (105.9/34kw)/Dayton along with Country WPFB-AM (910/1kw) and WPAY-FM (104.1/100kw)/Cincinnati from WPAY/WPFB Inc. for $6.75 million. NKU will begin operating the trio under a Local Marketing Agreement (LMA) beginning February 1.

WPAY/WPFB Inc. is headed by President Douglas L. Braden, while Northern Kentucky University is headed by President Dr. James C. Votruba.

Greg Guy of Patrick Communications brokered the deal for NKU, while Public Radio Capital was the broker for WPAY/WPFB Inc.
