Spanish News/Talk WSUA-AM (Radio Caracol 1260)/Miami has sponsored a study indicating that Hispanics in South Florida will break voting records during this year's local and national elections. As such, Radio Caracol kicks off a new weekly program "Caracol Decision 2012" hosted by Yoly Cuello that is dedicated to provide their Hispanic listeners with the most complete political coverage for 2012.
The study, "The Latino Electorate in South Florida," was conducted by GeoIdea for Radio Caracol and analyzed all of the areas census tracks as well as its political precincts. All findings are solely based on governmental data and cover three areas: South Florida, Miami-Dade and Broward Counties.
Data also shows that Latino registration has increased dramatically from 2004 to 2011. The Latino voter registration has increased with 189,774 new voters in South Florida (Miami Dade & Broward). Within the Non Cuban Census tracts there were 143,946 Democrats, 117,460 Republicans and 110,231 no party affiliation. This represents almost 45% of the South Florida voter registration in 2011, the study notes.
