EMF Closes on Purchase of WJIW/Greenville MS
RADIO ONLINE | Tuesday, December 19, 2017 |
Educational Media Foundation (EMF) has closed on its purchase of 31kW WJIW-FM in Greenville, MS, from Mondy-Burke Broadcasting for $500,000 cash, which includes the 650-foot tower site. Since EMF operates with a waiver of the main studio rule, it did not acquire the office/studio building (also owned by Mondy-Burke). These assets were purchased for $150,000 by an Arkansas real estate rental company. Larry Fuss's Delta Radio Group occupies most of the studio building space and will remain the sole tenant of the building.
Mondy-Burke, is headed by principal owner Elijah Mondy, of Helena, AR, and also owns stations in Helena and Pine Bluff, AR. EMF is a non-profit religious broadcaster that operates over 400 stations nationwide.
Bill Cate of Media Services Group was the exclusive broker in the transaction.
