Veteran Tampa Bay broadcaster Jesse Kage will be joining the morning show on WHFS-FM (Sports Radio 98.7 The Fan). The announcement comes from Program Director John O'Connell and the appointment is effective September 15. He joins co-host Kirk McEwen along with Roxanne Wilder and Special Ed on the new Kirk & Kage show which airs 6am-9am weekdays. Kage most recently hosted the popular afternoon show "Kage Kult" on WXTB/98 Rock. Prior to that, he spent 4 years at WSUN/97X.
"I am very excited to welcome Jesse Kage to 98.7 the Fan," said O'Connell. "The station has always had an energy and edge that you find in a rock station, so in many ways Jesse will feel right at home. The pairing of Jesse with Kirk McEwen puts two outstanding radio personalities together that will excite and engage listeners. The Kirk and Kage Morning Show will not only be a destination for sports fans but anyone craving a balance of sports, fun and entertainment."
"I am thrilled to join CBS RADIO and 98.7 The Fan and I look forward to taking the morning show to a new level with Kirk McEwen," said Kage. "This is an exciting time for me and sports radio as a whole and want nothing more than to create killer radio for Tampa Bay."
