Air America Suspends Randi Rhodes Over Speech Language

Liberal talk network Air America Radio suspends afternoon host (3-6pm) Randi Rhodes for calling Senator Hillary Clinton and Clinton supporter Geraldine Ferraro each "a big f*cking whore." She made the comments at an appearance on behalf of the network affiliate Talk KKGN-AM (Green 960)/San Francisco.
In a statement, Air America Chairman Charlie Kireker said that language has no place in the political dialogue. "Air America encourages strong opinions about public affairs but does not condone such abusive, ad hominem language by our hosts," Kireker continued.
Rhodes, who was basically doing a comedy routine, also went on a rant about having "an anti-Semite racist in the White House like Nixon or Ronald Reagan or Dick Cheney." She also poked fun at recently scandalized New York Governor Eliot Spitzer.
KKGN Program Director John Scott says the event out in advance and the station had only received one or two complaints about her language.
