WLS-AM "The Big 89" Chicago Turns the Big 8-5

Chicago's legendary WLS-AM will celebrate 85 years of service with the airing of "The History of WLS," Sunday from 12n-2pm. As Sears' "World's Largest Store" radio station and the voice of agriculture, WLS was the source of news and entertainment for listeners across 38 states.
In the 60s and 70s, WLS was The Rock of Chicago and home to Music Radio. Today, The Big 89 air a Talk format featuring local hosts Don Wade & Roma, Mancow & Cassidy and Roe Conn. The nation's top two talkers, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity are among the syndicated hosts.
The milestone will highlight WLS personalities like Gene Autry from the National Barn Dance, Andy Williams, George Goebel, Dick Biondi, Larry Lujack and John Landecker and more.
