Former Univision Radio/Florida Business Manager Anselmo "Sam" Potter pleaded guilty in federal court on Thursday to embezzling about $550,000 from the Spanish language broadcaster. He pleaded guilty to all six counts of wire fraud and faces between two and four years at his sentencing on December 30 reports the Miami Herald.
Potter allegedly embezzled the funds between December, 2004 and January, 2009 by writing more than 200 unauthorized checks and forging the signature of his supervisor said Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew Levi. He allegedly used a special account to write the checks to himself and falsified bank statements to conceal the theft. He then e-mailed the fabricated statements to Univision Radio's corporate headquarters in Dallas.
