Premiere Radio has reportedly declined to renew syndicated Rush Limbaugh past December 31 on Curtis Media's WPTF-AM/Raleigh and WSJS-AM/Winston-Salem. Both outlets have carried Limbaugh's show for over 20 years. Curtis Media President/COO Phil Zachary said the move "was not unexpected, but it nevertheless isn't any easier to swallow."
A replacement for Limbaugh's show on both Talk outlets is expected to be announced before December 1.
In August, Curtis Media acquired Sports WRBZ-AM (850 The Buzz) in Raleigh in a 3-company swap. Also as part of the deal, Curtis Media purchased North Carolina News Network.
