ESPN Radio is using the official opening of its new studios as an opportunity to host its owned and operated stations and key affiliates June 1 in a special day-long event. ESPN Radio's O&Os from New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Dallas will join 13 affiliates broadcasting from "Audio Avenue" outside of ESPN's headquarters in Bristol, CT.
Highlighting afternoon activities, recognizing all that ESPN Radio has become, will be the ribbon-cutting ceremony signifying the opening of new customized facilities featuring talk studios, dedicated control rooms and SportsCenter booths.
Those participating in and witnessing "Audio Ave" and the official opening of the network's studio complex will see how ESPN Radio has grown from simply a terrestrial service to ESPN Audio, a content provider via many platforms.
Along with the hosts and producers broadcasting from "Audio Ave." other June 1 participants will include network and affiliate management, account executives, program directors, clients, ESPN employees, and those involved with ESPN Audio's promotions, marketing and sales.
"ESPN Radio consumers are no longer simply radio listeners," says Network Senior VP/General Manager Mo Davenport. "The June 1 festivities will celebrate our commitment to ensure that fans not only get their ESPN Radio content how they want it, but also when they want it, and where they want it."
