Beasley has suspended Talk WQAM-AM/Miami's Sid Rosenberg after discovering that he had made a deal with a gambling site he owed a reported $100,000 to reduce his losses for on-air mentions, known as "plugaola," reports Jose Lambiet's "Gossip Extra." Rosenberg, who also serves as sports anchor for WINS-AM/New York, was suspended for six weeks without pay.
"The good thing is that we caught it before he did any damage," an official at WQAM told Lambiet. "Sid made an agreement to plug a sport-betting website he owed money to. My understanding is that he had a $100,000-plus in losses with the site. Sid received a fax at the station spelling out their private agreement, and Sid forgot it in the fax machine. Someone found it and brought it to our attention."
