KVET-AM 1300 The Zone/Austin Changes On Air Lineup

Sports Talk AM 1300 The Zone announced today a new on-air programming lineup. Mike Taylor will now host weekday mornings from 6-8:00 a.m., beginning Thursday, May 23, 2013. He currently hosts mornings on The Zones' sister station, The Ticket 760 in San Antonio but will now simulcast in both markets giving a wider and more diverse opportunity for discussion of current sports topics. Taylor's show will continue to focus on sports and lifestyle content appealing to central Texans.

"We're excited to add Mike Taylor's show to the KVET AM morning drive lineup," said Jay Shannon, Vice President of Operations, Clear Channel Media and Entertainment Austin. "He has proven his success in San Antonio and we're thrilled to now have him on the Longhorn flagship station here in Austin."

"Mike brings a fresh perspective and a unique personality to sports radio that listeners will gravitate to," said Market President Pam McKay. "We look forward to him not only continuing the Zone's success and momentum, but also growing our Austin audience."

The Zone will also adjust its midday programming to allow The Dan Patrick Show and The Jay Mohr Show to broadcast live. Patrick will broadcast from 8a-11a with Mohr on from 11a-2p. The popular afternoon Sports Buffet will expand to 5 hours (2p-7p) and now include Jon Madani.
