WNRG-FM (The New Energy 106.9)/Milwaukee's Cousin Ed and the Energy Street Team will be collecting $1.00 donations this Friday to benefit the families in Oklahoma after Monday's devastating tornadoes. All proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. The collection drives will take place from 11am until 1pm at two locations.
Cousin Ed told listeners, "The Power of a Dollar campaign is designed to give everyone a chance to make a difference and do what they can to help those in need. The reality is, not everybody can afford the $10 text donation that's set up through the Red Cross. Every dollar counts."
To kick off the drives, singer/songwriter Jason Derulo phoned Cousin Ed to lend his support by donating the first $169. Though WNRG is only asking for $1.00 donations, the station encourages cash and check donations of any dollar amount made out directly to "Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund."
