Shapiro: We Blew It in a Huge Way!

From 790-AM The Zone's Mayhem in the AM, the recently fired Steak Shapiro (pictured) talked with CNN's Greg Botelho about his role in the now infamous bit that mocked former New Orleans Saints player Steve Gleason who has ALS. During the interview Shapiro explained, "You walk a fine line trying to be somewhat on the edge. We blew it. We blew it in a huge way."
Admitting the bit was indeed offensive, he also called it stupid and said it had not been thought out at all. Shapiro, along with Nick Cellini and Chris Dimino were all fired by The Zone's parent company, Lincoln Financial, just hours after the bit aired. Shapiro said, "The pressure is to try to do a good radio show, and that wasn't a good moment. It was a horrible moment."
