Former Skywatch Traffic Reporter Gattuso Charged
RADIO ONLINE | Thursday, August 28, 2014 |
Former Skywatch Traffic reporter Ryan Gattuso (aka Ryan O'Brien) is in hot water. According to Salem Virginia Police Detective Daniel M. Crouse, a warrant was obtained against Gattuso for "obtaining money by false pretense." Other charges have been sent to the Roanoke County Commonwealth Attorney. Skywatch ousted Gattuso last April for suspicion of embezzlement and theft. He was reporting traffic on the Mel Wheeler stations WSLQ-FM, WXLK-FM, WSLC-FM, WLNI-FM, WVBE-AM & FM and WDBJ-TV/Roanoke, VA.
"I was really shocked Leonard Wheeler owner of Mel Wheeler Inc. would have recommended such a person for the traffic reporting job. A major lesson learned always check peoples references no matter what or who recommends them," said Skywatch Traffic CEO Chuck Johnson. "We have faith the Roanoke County Commonwealth Attorney's Office will help us get justice in these cases."
