WFLA/Tampa Remains Home of Tampa Bay Lightning

iHeartMedia/Tampa inks a new multi-year broadcast deal with the National Hockey League's Tampa Bay Lightning to broadcast games on WFLA-AM, beginning with the start of the 2014-2015 season and running through the 2016-2017 season. WFLA will carry all Tampa Bay Lightning regular season and postseason games as well as select Lightning pre-season games, while co-owned WHNZ-AM will air all Tampa Bay Storm Arena Football games.

In addition to the broadcast rights secured by iHeartMedia, sister Sports/Talk WDAE will provide expanded team coverage. More news, interviews and team-related content will also be available on the new Tampa Bay Lightning dedicated iHeartRadio station.

"We are extremely excited to have renewed our partnership with the Tampa Bay Lightning," said iHeartMedia/Tampa Market President Sam Nein. "The Lightning are one of the most respected brands in the Tampa Bay market and one of the premiere professional sports franchises in America. We are excited and proud to continue working with an organization that is as committed to our local community as they are to winning another Stanley Cup for their large loyal fan base."

"All of us at Tampa Bay Sports and Entertainment are excited to continue the partnership with iHeartMedia Tampa Bay and its great family of stations," said Tampa Bay Lightning President Steve Griggs. "We have maintained a great relationship for several years and we look forward to further growing our brand with iHeart, delivering more content to Lightning fans than ever before all across the radio dial."
