WLBK to Serve as Radio Home for The Huskies

Northern Illinois University Athletics and its multimedia rights holder, Huskie Sports Properties, have announced a four-year deal between Nelson Multimedia and its stations WLBK-FM and WLBK-AM/De Kalb, IL. Beginning with the 2014-15 basketball season, WLBK will air all men's basketball and women's basketball games. All football games will be added to the line-up beginning with the 2015 season.

Additionally, WLBK will air "NIU Weekly," a 30-minute show focusing on NIU Athletics and "Inside Huskie Football" coaches show starting in 2015. Huskie Sports Properties, a property of Learfield Sports, oversees all aspects of the Huskie Sports Network.

"We appreciate the opportunity to be continuing our partnership with NIU Athletics and look forward to providing exciting Huskie game coverage to NIU fans in and surrounding DeKalb County," said Nelson Multimedia President Doug Nelson.

"We're happy that WLBK FM 98.9 and WLBK AM 1360 will serve as our radio home for the Huskie Sports Network," added Associate VP/Director of Athletics Sean T. Frazier. "We continually look at ways we can enhance the radio broadcast experience for fans and strongly believe we have a solid, long-term partner with WLBK and Nelson Multimedia."
