Westwood One News Assembles Reporting Team


Westwood One has announced that its new customized news product -- Westwood One News, a full-service news network powered by CNN -- has assembled its news team. CNN correspondent Steve Kastenbaum will join as Senior Correspondent and New York Bureau Chief. Bob Costantini of NBC News Radio will become the network's Washington correspondent, covering the White House and Capitol Hill. Veteran CNN broadcast journalist Jim Roope joins as the network's West Coast correspondent based in Los Angeles. Alan Scaia will serve as the Midwest reporter based in Dallas.

"Westwood One News will launch with national coverage from some of the most experienced and honored news correspondents in our business," said Westwood One Executive VP/News and Talk Bart Tessler. "They will be on the scene covering breaking news, filing for the network, and providing live two-ways with affiliates. We are proud to have them on our team and we look forward to more exciting WWO News announcements soon."

Steve Kastenbaum comes to Westwood One from CNN where, for the past year, he has worked as a producer, reporter and CNN Newsource correspondent out of the network's New York bureau. Bob Costantini joins Westwood One from NBC News Radio. His career includes reporting for Fox News Channel, Tribune Television, and CNN Radio. He has covered the White House and Capitol Hill, Supreme Court, and the political game

Jim Roope comes to Westwood One as a veteran broadcast journalist. He spent 13 years as the West Coast Correspondent for CNN Radio, where he was the recipient of 12 Golden Mic and three Peabody Awards for excellence in journalism. Before joining CNN, he worked in Los Angeles at KABC, KFWB and KNX as a general assignment reporter. Alan Scaia has worked for WBAP and KLIF in Dallas/Fort Worth, WIBC in Indianapolis, and KEX in Portland, Oregon.
