RADIO ONLINE | Thursday, October 30, 2014 |
Cumulus Media Classic Hits WLS-FM/Chicago taps veteran radio personality Jack Diamond as its new morning host, effective November 3. Diamond has worked in radio on both the East and West coasts for over 25 years. His extensive experience includes KNBR/San Francisco, WABC/New York, WQXI-FM (94Q)/Atlanta and WRQX-FM/Washington, where Diamond hosted one of DC's top-rated morning shows for over 24 years. Most recently, he handled mornings at Classic Hits XHPRS-FM (105.7 MAX-FM).
"Jack's positivity, fun and endearing qualities match perfectly with our current morning lineup including air talent/meteorologist Brant Miller, Marty Jones with information/traffic updates and producer Dan Wolfe," said Cumulus Senior VP Corporate/Programming Jan Jeffries. "This will be the third radio tour for Jack and me working together, previously in Atlanta and Washington, DC. What seemed like a fun idea to have him sit-in WLS-FM mornings for a week this summer turned out to be a great idea."
"As a kid listening to the radio at night, WLS and WABC were the stations that sparked a desire to spend my life doing what those great personalities were doing from so many miles away," added Diamond. "Pure magic. Hosting mornings at 94-7 WLS is not only a career dream come true, it brings my career full circle and is truly "going home."
