WCSX-HD2/Detroit Flips to All Christmas Music
RADIO ONLINE | Friday, October 31, 2014 |
And so it begins. WCSX-HD2 (Oldies 94.7)/Detroit converted into Christmas Friday afternoon at 5pm. Naturally, the first song played was "It's Beginning to Look A Lot like Christmas" by Perry Como. Christmas music will continue throughout the holiday season with favorites like "Jingle Bell Rock" by Bobby Helms, "White Christmas" by Bing Crosby, "Holly Jolly Christmas" by Burl Ives and "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree" by Brenda Lee.
Program Director Jerry Tarrants said, "We're interrupting our normally programed great oldies stars like, Elvis, The Temptations and The Beach Boys to bring Michigan the best Christmas music experience over several modern platforms. With the threat of snow looming on Halloween in the metro Detroit area we thought why not start the Christmas season early this year. Tis the season, let the Christmas music begin."
WCSX says that "Christmas on Detroit's Oldies 94.7 HD2" is a complete holiday experience with continuous and uninterrupted Christmas music adorned with Christmas history, kids who stay the darndest things, favorite Christmas moments from our listeners and more. Plus, there will be plenty of presents under Detroit's Oldies Christmas tree to giveaway to listeners.
