Radio One Expands BOOM Footprint to Atlanta
RADIO ONLINE | Tuesday, November 25, 2014 |
Radio One expands its BOOM footprint with the launch of Classic Hip Hop of BOOM 102.9 FM on translator W275BK. The station previously aired a simulcast of Praise 102.5 FM, a Contemporary Inspiration outlet. The Classic Hip-Hop station is meant as a complement to Urban AC Majic 107.5/97.5, Mainstream Urban Hot 107.9 and Praise 102.5. Listeners of Praise can continue listening to "The Yolanda Adams Morning Show" and its format 102.5.
"We are thrilled to expand and diversify our music options for our listeners," said VP/General Manager Tim Davies. "Our listeners can enjoy soulful R&B, inspirational Gospel, cutting edge Hip Hop, and now Classic Hip-Hop. We are full service -- giving Atlanta an array of choices for their urban listening pleasure."
The expansion of the BOOM brand comes on the cusp of Radio One's launch of BOOM 92 FM in Houston in October. BOOM 107.9 FM was launched in Philadelphia early November and BOOM 94.5 in Dallas almost two weeks ago.
