TuneIn Launches on Apple Watch and Apple CarPlay
RADIO ONLINE | Monday, April 20, 2015 |
TuneIn, a digital audio network, is now compatible with both Apple Watch and Apple CarPlay. With the April 24 release of Apple Watch, TuneIn's library of over 100,000 live radio outlets and 4 million on-demand programs and podcasts will be accessible right from a listener's wrist. TuneIn says it makes "listening on the go even easier," allowing quick access to most recently played streams and list of followed stations and programs.
The "Now Playing" screen offers controls for playing, pausing, and skipping through content quickly, with a special feature that allows following or quickly jumping between TuneIn stations. The app will also feature a Glance, allowing listeners to see artist, track and program information and artwork of the currently playing stream.
In addition to supporting Apple Watch, the TuneIn Radio App is now compatible with Apple CarPlay, with the ability to quickly, easily and safely view recently listened to stations, access favorite content and skip, pause and play using your car's controls.
"We're constantly innovating to ensure we are on the newest devices," said TuneIn VP/Product Kristin George. "Our TuneIn Radio App is now compatible for CarPlay giving users another way to leverage the best streaming radio option in-vehicle. We're also on Apple Watch which gives users more control and takes advantage of predictive knowledge for quick access to recently played streams and a list of followed stations and programs."
