KISW/Seattle to Celebrate 45 Years of Rock
RADIO ONLINE | Friday, February 12, 2016 |
On Sunday, February 14 -- exactly 45 years to the day since its Rock format launched -- KISW-FM/Seattle will celebrate its 45th anniversary as one of America's first Rock radio stations with the special feature "45 in 12." From 7am until 7pm, night talent Taryn Daly and Assistant Program Director and midday host Ryan Castle will provide a twelve-hour chronological tour through the last 45 years at KISW.
KISW switched from its original Classical format to Rock in February of 1971, and has been rocking the Seattle area ever since. Castle said, "It's really mind blowing when you stop and think about all of the great, groundbreaking music that has come through KISW over the last 45 years. From the early days of Hendrix and Led Zeppelin, all the way up through brand new rock bands we're still breaking in Seattle today."
"45 in 12" will also stream on Sunday, February 14 starting at 7am through KISW.com.
