Cumulus Nashville Collects Thousands of Toys, Gifts
RADIO ONLINE | Thursday, December 8, 2016 |
Cumulus Media/Nashville's Country WKDF-FM (NASH FM 103.3), Sports WGFX-FM (104-5 The Zone), Urban AC WQQK-FM (92Q), WWTN-FM (Super Talk 99.7 WTN) and WSM-FM (95.5 NASH Icon) brought the community together to create a "Toy Field" at Nissan Stadium, collecting thousands of toys and gifts for seniors in need at the 9th annual Toy Field event benefitting The Salvation Army's Forgotten Angel Program. This holiday season, The Salvation Army will reach almost 9,000 "angels" -- less fortunate children and elderly.
Cumulus Nashville was joined in the toy and gift drive by listeners and client partners including State Water Heaters, Sprint, Carvana, Hardee's, Just Love Coffee, ESCU, Iron Tribe Fitness, School of Rock and Cornea Consultants.
According to Major Ed Lee, Area Commander, The Salvation Army Nashville Area Command, several hundreds of those "angels" will not be adopted. To ensure each child has a special Christmas, the Forgotten Angel shop will provide gifts. Lee said, "Throughout the years, the Cumulus Nashville listeners have been generous with their donations. Today was a great day that will help us provide for those in need in our community."
