WOR Reveals Mets Spr. Training Broadcast Schedule
RADIO ONLINE | Tuesday, February 21, 2017 |
The New York Mets flagship station, WOR-AM, has announced its 2017 spring training broadcast schedule. The 50kW iHeartMedia outlet will carry 15 games beginning on Friday, February 24 when the Mets take on the Boston Red Sox. Howie Rose & Josh Lewin will call the action as they return to the booth in the fourth year of WOR's partnership with the Mets.
"The Mets have a great opportunity in 2017. They will attempt to qualify for the post season for the third straight year, something that has not been accomplished in franchise history. With a tremendously talented group of starting pitchers presumably healthy again, we're all excited to get back on the air to bring you the play by play for what has the chance to become a historic season for the New York Mets," said Rose. "We hope you will join us for spring training, every regular season game, and hopefully a long, successful post season," added Rose.
Lewin added, "There's nothing sweeter than the sounds of summer on the radio while it's still the middle of winter. No one captures that magic like Howie does and it's such a thrill to be working with him and Wayne again."
WOR's pre- and post-game host Wayne Randazzo will also call some of the action along with Rose & Lewin this upcoming spring. The Mets will open up the regular season on Monday April 3.
