AshleyTill Apologizes for Texas Wildfires Comment
RADIO ONLINE | Friday, March 10, 2017 |
SiriusXM's "The Highway" host Ashley Till got in hot water over comments she made on her show on Thursday, March 9. Without realizing the scope of the wildfires in North Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas, she reportedly referred to the fire event as a "Bar-B-Que." Since then the show's Facebook page has been flooded with expressions of disappointment and anger. So far, the wildfires have claimed the lives of six people, while countless livestock were lost and 800,000 acres burned.
Following the backlash, Till issued an apology on her personal blog. Till stated, "From the bottom of my heart I am sorry. Trust me, I have spent the past 24 hrs crying and feeling sick to my stomach because of the entire situation. Just because you don't see a post of my face on social media doesn't mean I'm hiding or 'proud' of my comments. I'm not."
