Cumulus Appoints Brown as WWWZ and WMGL PD

Cumulus Media appoints 20-year veteran radio programmer Kathy Brown as Program Director for heritage Urban stations WWWZ-FM and WMGL-FM in Charleston, SC. Brown joins the company from iHeartMedia in St. Louis, where she was Program Director of Urban station KMJM and Gospel station KATZ-AM. Brown was previously Assistant Program Director at CBS Radio's Urban WVEE in Atlanta.

Cumulus Media/Charleston Operations Manager Bill West said, "Kathy is a pro and I've already been inspired by hearing her ideas for our brands here in Charleston."

Brown added, "I am very excited to join the Cumulus team in Charleston and embrace the programming direction from VP Ken Johnson. Prior to WVEE, Brown was Operations Manager for Radio One's WWIN-AM & FM, WERQ and WOLB in Baltimore and became Regional Program Director during her 14-year tenure, serving Urban AC stations in markets including Washington DC, Richmond VA and Baltimore, as well as Augusta GA, Detroit and Los Angeles.
