Ocal Broadcaster Launches Pure ''Salsa'' Outlet in Orlando

Q Broadcasting launches "Viva FM," a 100% Salsa format serving the Orlando market. The format will be carried on simulcast partners WONQ-AM (1030) and W258DD-FM (99.5) with coverage of Orange, Osceola, Brevard, Polk and parts of Volusia, as well as digital platforms.
Q Broadcasting COO/VP George Mier said, "This format has been heavily researched and a winner in selected markets over the years. A few stations have dabbled with it, but besides playing some hits, I believe many have not achieved the format's fullest potential, principally for failing to fully commit and understand the audience and essence of the format, beyond the music."
He continued, "Salsa has long been a Heritage format with a highly emotional connection with listeners from most of Latin American countries, due to its standard legacy of Hits that has spanned over 50 years. The station will be the only 100% Salsa format in the state of Florida and the continental US. We, at Q Broadcasting are proven experts of the Salsa genre in Puerto Rico and the US. Orlando Salsa lovers are about to get a really nice treat".
