Entercom brings back Race Taylor to the New York airwaves on Classic Hits WCBS-FM. Taylor, who spent nearly 20 years on-air at the recently shuttered WPLJ-FM, joins the station for middays from 10am-3pm ET weekdays, effective July 22. The veteran air personality currently is the billboard voice for ABC-TV's prime-time, daytime and late-night programming.
"We are extremely excited to welcome Race to WCBS-FM and to reunite him with some of our most legendary on-air personalities," said Entercom New York Regional President and Market Manager Susan Larkin. "We are thrilled to offer former WPLJ fans a new place to call home at our station and to offer Race's loyal listeners more of the absolute best on-air listening experience for which we are known."
"Pinch me. I am beyond ecstatic for the support I've received from Jim Ryan [Senior Vice President of Programming, Entercom New York] and Susan Larkin," added Taylor. "To say I'm a lucky guy to walk into one of the greatest radio stations ever is an understatement. There are some two million PLJ fans looking for a station to call home and I'd love for them to join me at WCBS-FM. I'm ready to rock. Scott Shannon, I've missed you brother."
Prior to joinging WPLJ in October, 1999, Taylor hosted PM Drive and was Assistant Program Director for KDMX-FM (Mix 102.9)/Dallas, and was PM drive host and Assistant Program Director for WKRQ-FM (Q102)/Cincinnati.
