Capitol Broadcasting Sports Radio Adds Another Local Show

SportsChannel8: The Radio Show

WCMC-FM (99.9 The Fan)/Raleigh adds "SportsChannel8: The Radio Show" to its lineup starting Thursday, August 15, weekdays from 10am-12noon. Hosted by long-time North Carolinian Hayes Permar, along with co-hosts Josh Goodson, Brian Geisinger, contributors Ben Swain and Weather Moose, "SportsChannel8" is being elevated from its Saturday morning 10am-12noon timeslot. The change will give listeners 9 straight hours of local sports talk programming weekdays.

99.9 The Fan Program/Operations Director Dennis Glasgow said, "We couldn't be more excited to add the SportsChannel8 brand to our weekday lineup. Not only do we add another two hours a day of outstanding local content, but we'll also be offering probably one of the most engaging, entertaining and hyper-local shows I have every heard in my 6 years here in The Triangle."

Permar added, "We are incredibly excited and humbled to be a part of the already outstanding lineup 99.9 The Fan offers listeners every weekday. Our crew is made up of guys who all grew up and became sports fans in North Carolina, and our show has and will continue to reflect that. When we started SportsChannel8 about 5 years ago, I'd have thought you would see a 16-seed upset a 1-seed in the NCAA Tournament before we'd get a radio show supported by Capitol Broadcasting, and, well, I guess I was right. Thanks, Virginia."

Along with the addition of SportsChannel8 The Radio Show, 99.9 The Fan will continue with its current lineup that includes: ESPN Radio's "Golic & Wingo," "The David Glenn Show" and "Adam & Joe." Due to the change in programming, ESPN Radio's Dan Le Batard show heard currently from 10am-12pm on 99.9 The Fan, will shift and be expanded to all three hours live from 10am-12pm on co-owned Buzz Sports Radio from 10am-1pm.
