Steve Gradowitz to Retire from KUZZ-FM/Bakersfield Mornings
RADIO ONLINE | Friday, November 15, 2019 |
33-year morning host Steve Gradowitz is retiring from Country KUZZ-FM/Bakersfield, effective Friday, December 20. He's handled wakeups for the Buck Owens Productions station since 1986. During his tenure, Gradowitz received the Academy of Country Music's Air Personality of the Year Award twice, most recently in 2018. A new morning program is expected to be announced soon.
"We are so grateful to Steve for helping Bakersfield wake up every weekday morning and get to work or school with a smile," said CEO and GM Mel Owens Jr. "He will be missed, but we wish he and his wife JAN many years of happiness in retirement. He's earned it."
"I don't think I've ever had one show that I didn't look forward to being with my friends, laughing with each other, sharing each other's sadness, and just having a great time," Gradowitz told listeners. "You have always been Bakersfield's #1 audience, and always will be."
