Beasley Media's WMMR-FM morning personalities Preston & Steve have unveiled their 10th annual Coolest Teacher promotion, celebrating High School teachers in the Philadelphia area. The initiative invites area high school students to get out and vote for the teacher at their school they think is the coolest. All teachers are cool, but everyone has a favorite.
Each weekday, beginning May 16 through June 10, Preston & Steve will randomly draw an area high school name. Over the next 24 hours, students from that school nominate their favorite teachers at wmmr.com. Once the tally is made, a winning Preston & Steve Coolest Teacher will be announced the following morning. A new school will then be announced to start the process again.
Over 150 schools have been featured over the past nine years of celebrating teachers. Traditionally, the winning educator has called into the radio show after being awarded the new title and has been given the opportunity to brag about their students and the school.
Many educators have told Preston & Steve they've waited years to hear their school's name called.
"A great teacher is someone you'll remember for you entire life," said Preston Elliot. "So why not share that love with the masses. We're happy to once again spotlight just a few of the great teachers in our area."
