RADIO ONLINE | Tuesday, August 16, 2022 |
NFL veteran and Super Bowl LIII MVP Julian Edelman debuts the launch of "Games with Names" podcast on August 23, co-hosted with comedian Sam Morril. The weekly series will feature a who's who of athletes, coaches and celebrity fans reliving the most iconic moments in sports. Guests include MVPs, Hall of Famers and World Champions with the likes of Peyton Manning, Paul Pierce, Michael Irvin and more.
"Everyone's always talking about who the GOAT is, but Sam and I are looking for the GOAG: The Greatest of all Games," said Edelman.
Since retiring from the NFL in 2020, Edelman has joined the cast of "Inside the NFL" on Paramount Plus, while developing film and television projects with Coast Productions. Edelman has continued to find creative ways to stay engaged with a fanbase he cultivated over twelve seasons in New England, earning 5+ million followers across his social platforms.
Edelman is joined by comedian and avid sports fan, Sam Morril to serve as his co-host on "Games with Names." Morril is a fast-rising stand-up comics in New York City and a podcast veteran with numerous shows including "We Might Be Drunk," "Pod Dont Lie" and "We Know Nothing Podcast," among others. He is a regular at The Comedy Cellar and has performed stand-up sets on "That's My Time" with David Letterman, "The Late Show" with Stephen Colbert, "The Late, Late Show" with James Corden and Conan.
"Julian Edelman is a 3 time Super Bowl Champion and I just got 10,000 airline miles complaining that my in flight TV didn't work," said Morril. "We both know how to get things done, and it was only a matter of time before we joined forces."
"We set out to create a show that celebrates the most iconic games in sports history and the people that played in them, something that breathes new life into these classic moments we all remember, but don't often talk about. Hopefully "Games with Names" can bring a little nostalgia to our older listeners and show our younger listeners why the greats are great," added showrunner Kyler Schelling.
