Trump Renominates FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr

FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr has been renominated for a full five-year term by President Trump. Before being sworn in last August as a Commissioner to fill a vacant Republican slot, Carr served as the agency's general counsel. Prior to becoming general counsel in January, 2017, he was Pai's legal advisor for wireless, public safety and international issues. Before joining the FCC, Carr worked as a telecommunications attorney at the Wiley Rein law firm, where his clients included AT&T, Verizon Communications and USTelecom.

FCC Chairman Ajit Pai said in a statement, "I congratulate Brendan on his nomination to serve a full five-year term at the FCC. He is a distinguished public servant who has hit the ground running during his first months as a Commissioner, including by leading the FCC's efforts to expedite the deployment of wireless infrastructure. I look forward to continuing to work with him in the months and years to come."
