Atlanta Catholic Radio to Acquire WCFO/Atlanta

Atlanta Catholic Radio Inc. has agreed to acquire News/Talk WCFO-AM/Atlanta (licensed to East Point, GA) from JW Broadcasting Inc. for a total purchase price of $750,000, subject to FCC approval. WCFO is a 50kW daytime directional signal at 1160 mHz. The station will drop its "The Talk of the Town" slogan for Religious programming. Newly-formed Atlanta Catholic Radio has no other broadcast interests. JW Broadcasting, headed by Joe Weber, also owns one other metro Atlanta signal, WMLB-AM, licensed to Avondale Estates.
Eddie Esserman of Media Services Group represented JW Broadcasting in the transaction. Beth Griffin represented Atlanta Catholic Radio.
