The Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB), in conjunction with BMI and the Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio (MIW) Group, announces the successful completion of the eleventh annual Rising Through the Ranks Women in Radio Management & Leadership Training Program. Twenty-nine scholarship recipients were selected on August 15-16 and awarded by the three organizations. The two-day seminar focused on the specific needs of women in radio management roles and worked to enhance their overall knowledge and skills.

The tailored curriculum featured practical and real-world applications that participants of the course can put to use in the workplace immediately. The topics included: "The Role of Today's Radio Manager," "Managing Up and Down," "Having Difficult Conversations, Budgeting and Forecasting," "Women in the Radio Workplace" and "Building Your Personal Brand."

"Our 2018 graduates now have the critical provisions needed to return to their home markets with the mindset of leading and inspiring their teams," noted RAB President/CEO Erica Farber. "These women now have a new-found network of peers, and unprecedented management skills after this two-day seminar."

"BMI is incredibly proud to support these talented up-and-coming female radio executives through the Rising Through the Ranks Program," said BMI VP/Industry Relations Dan Spears. "The professional development training presented at this seminar, led by top level executives will continue to be an invaluable resource for these graduates for years to come."

"Sharing experiences and resources in a classroom environment is invaluable to our graduates. Rising Through the Ranks continues to be a hallmark event for Mentoring and Inspiring Women," noted MIW spokesperson Denyse Mesnik. "By supporting the advancement of women in radio to foster the growth of female managers, we ensure the next generation of leadership in the radio industry."
