Alpha Media to Sell Six-Station West Palm Beach Cluster
RADIO ONLINE | Wednesday, September 26, 2018 |
Alpha Media has agreed to sell its six radio stations in West Palm Beach to Hubbard Radio. Terms were not immediately disclosed. Included in the deal are AC WRMF-FM (97.9), Country WIRK-FM (103.1), Sports WMEN-AM (640), News WFTL-AM (850), AC WEAT-FM (107.9) and Urban AC WMBX-FM (102.3). Alpha employs roughly 105 people there, including fulltime and parttime employees. The company has had a presence there since February, 2016 when it acquired the stations from Digity LLC.
The exit from West Palm Beach leaves Alpha with 213 stations in 46 markets in the U.S. The company said it had been selling off certain assets to lower its debt leverage.
