Spotify Free Users Can Now Listen on Google Home

Premium Spotify users have been able to access the service through Google Home with a simple "Ok Google, Play Spotify." Now both Spotify's Free and Premium users are able to use Google Home to access the service in the U.S., UK, Canada, Australia, France and Germany. This marks the first time that Spotify has been available to its Free users on a voice-activated speaker.

With Spotify on Google Home, you can set Spotify as your default music service and Ask Google to play music. Here are a few sample voice commands available:

• "Ok Google, play Spotify"
• "Ok Google, play Discover Weekly"
• "Ok Google, play Rap Caviar"
• "Ok Google, play my "chill" playlist"

Spotify Product Director, Platform & Partner Experience Mikael Ericsson said, "We are incredibly excited that, from today, millions of Spotify's Free users will be able to enjoy Spotify in their homes through voice-activated speakers for the very first time, thanks to the Assistant on Google Home."
