Marks to Run Editorial Content for Townsquare Media

Townsquare Media has hired veteran editor and journalist Craig Marks as Editorial Director. In this role, Mr. Marks will oversee editorial content across web, social and video for eight of Townsquare's music and entertainment brands including TasteofCountry, Loudwire, PopCrush, ScreenCrush, UltimateClassicRock, TheBoot, Diffuser, and TheBoombox. He joins alongside Vanessa Satten, longtime Editor in Chief of Townsquare's hip-hop brand XXL.

"We are thrilled that Craig is bringing his dynamic expertise in creating compelling original content to our already influential brands," commented Jared Willig, SVP Digital. "Craig's track record in overseeing the content strategy of some of the most important editorial voices in pop culture speaks for itself. We already reach millions of music and entertainment enthusiasts every month, and are excited that his leadership will enable us to grow even further."

Previously Marks served as the executive editor at Billboard, and as editor-in-chief of Blender magazine, Spin and Popdust. He is the co-author of the best-selling oral history "I Want My MTV: The Uncensored Story of the Music Video Revolution," and has written for New York, GQ, the New York Times and Details.

I am thrilled to be joining such an innovative, multi-platform company as Townsquare," said Marks. "I look forward to participating in the continued growth of the Company and its industry leading music and pop-culture brands."
