St. Louis Media Hall of Fame to Induct George Noory

Legendary news reporters, editors, photographers, broadcasters, ground-breaking filmmakers and shapers of public opinion comprise the inductees of the 2018 class of the St. Louis Media Hall of Fame. Among the inductees on March 17 is Premiere-syndicated "Coast to Coast AM" host George Noory. A total of twenty two honorees were selected for their significant contributions by the board of directors of the St. Louis Media History Foundation.
Also being inducted:
George "The G" Logan, a popular radio DJ in the mid-1950s on KXLW in St. Louis, "The G's" style of broadcasting and imitation of Black radio helped lay the foundation for what would become "rock and roll radio" here and across the country.
Rob & Sally Rains, he has been covering sports in St. Louis for more than 30 years in print, 20 years on radio, and he's written or co-written with Sally Rains, his wife, more than 30 books with or about the greats in St. Louis sports. They moved into the digital world with StLSportsPage.com in 2011.
Brother George Rueppel. He is the founder of radio station WEW (We Enlighten the World) in 1921, the first station west of the Mississippi, which was owned by St. Louis University. Under Bro. Rueppel's watch, WEW became the second station in the U.S. authorized to broadcast weather forecasts, the first to include river reports, and later that year, market reports-regular features in today's broadcasting world.
