Vipology Introduces Smart Speaker Skills for Radio
RADIO ONLINE | Tuesday, March 6, 2018 |
Vipology has introduced its smart speaker skills product, Vipology Smart Speaker System (VS3), to radio stations as consumer adoption of smart speakers continues to grow at record levels. Vipology launches VS3 for radio on 100 U.S. affilate stations, concurrent with the signing of a group deal with Adams Radio Group to provide the company's 24 stations in the Midwest, Maryland and Florida with VS3. Under the deal, Vipology will work with Adams' stations to develop a strategic "road map" to optimize each station's position on Alexa and other smart speakers and to educate listeners as to how to easily access the stations on their smart speakers.
Adams Radio Group President/CEO Ron Stone said, "We're thrilled to have chosen Vipology as our partner in the smart speaker space, putting radio back in the home and office where it belongs. Vipology's deep innovation, affordability, and their 100% digital solutions for radio made this an easy decision."
Vipology's Smart Speaker System deliverables include quickly securing the stations' brands on smart speakers in the midst of a virtual "land grab" for names, much like the URL land grab in the dot-com boom of the '90's. In addition, Vipology works with stations in a customer-informed process to maximize their placement on smart speakers for cash or barter, and with no setup fee. Vipology also adds new features and skills for stations without additional fees.
Vipology CEO Chris Peaslee said, "VS3 puts stations at the front of the line in smart speaker technology, and provides them with an easy and economical on-ramp to smart speakers at a time when the urgency to secure station monikers and optimal positioning is high and is critical to their future success. We are especially proud to work with outstanding broadcasters and especially Adams Radio Group stations to introduce VS3 and smart speaker skills for their stations and markets."
