RADIO ONLINE | Friday, June 1, 2018 |
The Inaugural Beasley Radio Talent Institute begins Monday at Emerson College in Boston with Beasley Media Group CEO Caroline Beasley and EVP/COO Brian Beasley in the opening session. They follow opening comments from the President of Emerson College Dr. Lee Pelton and Sunshine Wireless Company and Chair Vice President & Managing Partner Jeff Greenhawt Emerson Board of Trustees. Consultant Fred Jacobs leads the second session with "How Technology is Transforming Radio Careers," followed by Xperi Senior VP/Broadcast Radio Joseph F. D'Angelo with a session on "HD Radio Technology and the Future of Broadcast in the Vehicle."
"As a company, we are committed to supporting and encouraging the development of new talent in our organization and the industry," said Beasley. "The Beasley Radio Talent Institute further underscores this commitment and provides an incredible incubator for developing tomorrow's leaders today. We look forward to having our incredible Boston team members involved in this important initiative."
Beasley Media Group Boston VP/Market Manager Mary Menna will be the closing speaker ten days from now -- and in between, many of her Beasley team in Boston will be leading sessions, as well as broadcasters from Entercom, iHeartMedia, Hall Communications and others, including the play-by- play announcers of the Patriots, Celtics, Bruins and Red Sox.
The students, coming from 9 different universities in Boston and the region, including Emerson College, will learn from over 40 broadcast pros leading the sessions during the course of the institute. They will visit the Beasley Media Group radio stations for a full day on Wednesday, then they'll go back again on Friday as the live studio audience of the Loren and Wally Morning Show on WROR-FM.
"From the beginning, Beasley Media Group CEO Caroline Beasley grasped the vision and immediately stepped up. They are a company that does the right thing in our industry," said Founder and President Dan Vallie of the National Radio Talent System. "We are proud to be working together to continue growing the farm system; discovering, coaching and incubating young talent with a passion for radio. It's a privilege to be able to do this with Emerson College, and to be working with forward thinking companies like Xperi, Marketron, Benztown and Vcreative to help make it happen."
