Four-time NBA Champion and entrepreneur Shaquille O'Neal is expanding his role at PodcastOne, where he currently hosts "The BIG Podcast with Shaq." While establishing greater visibility for his own podcast, O'Neal will also take part in the promotion and curation of the sports network's programming slate. Along with podcasts, up-to-date sports reports and major event coverage, Sportsnet "guarantees that listeners will have more fun on this network than anywhere else in podcast sports."
"I have a blast doing my podcast every week," said O'Neal. "And I always like to have my hand in the hottest businesses. Podcasting continues to heat up and now is the time for me to take the next step into the space - who better to do it with than PodcastOne, who has lead the way in podcasting since its inception? They have a phenomenal vision for the sports community. So here I am. The general of PodcastOne Sportsnet."
Through the joint effort, Shaq will work with PodcastOne to increase consumer engagement across its digital channels, while building a fan-centric community around the roster of top sports personalities. In addition to program listening, fans will have the opportunity to interact across social media platforms and PodcastOne's new interactive app.
PodcastOne Chairman and CEO Norman Pattiz said, "As someone who wears one of Shaq's championship rings on my finger, I know, firsthand, of his passion for success. There is no one bigger - in size or spirit. Shaq will stand for everything PodcastOne Sportsnet is - quality, sports IQ, big fun, and a connection to fans everywhere."
In addition to Shaq, PodcastOne Sportsnet programming features the following sports personalities: Dan Patrick, University of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, sportscasters Rich Eisen and Suzy Shuster, WWE legend Steve Austin, actor and sports broadcaster Rob Riggle and comedian Sarah Tiana, NFL analyst Dave Dameshek, UFC star Chael Sonnen, NBA Champion BJ Armstrong, The Associated Press, Los Angeles Lakers, Big 12 and more.
