ESPN Signs Mina Kimes to Extension, Launches Podcast

ESPN senior writer Mina Kimes has agreed to a multiyear extension with ESPN and launches an NFL-themed podcast entitled "Bootleg with Mina Kimes." Kimes, who joined ESPN in May, 2014, will continue to write for ESPN The Magazine, as well as maintain a presence across a variety of programming including as a co-host on "The Morning Roast" on ESPN Radio with Domonique Foxworth and Clinton Yates.
"Mina is an exceptional talent, whose storytelling transcends sports," said Alison Overholt, editor-in-chief and vice president, ESPN The Magazine, espnW and The ESPYS. "She boasts an unbeatable hat trick of witty intelligence, sly humor and masterful narrative instincts that make her a compelling voice on television, radio, and on the printed page or screen. Mina is a star-in-the-making."
Prior to ESPN, Kimes was an investigative reporter for Bloomberg News (2013) and a business writer for Fortune Magazine (2007-13), where she penned pieces on topics from arms exports to tainted drugs. A two-time finalist for the Dan Jenkins Medal for Excellence in Sportswriting, Kimes also earned numerous awards for business and investigative journalism. Organizations that have recognized her work include the New York Press Club, the National Press Club, and the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA).
