Entercom has announced the kickoff of "Rockin' for 50 Years," a year-long celebration to commemorate the 50th anniversary of heritage Classic Rock WCMF-FM in Rochester, NY. The station will celebrate the iconic milestone with special programming and promotions throughout the year, including "50th Anniversary Album Side Saturdays" which will highlight the 50-year music history of WCMF.
"It's very rare that a radio station hits this milestone anniversary in the same format and we are thrilled to celebrate 50 rockin' years of WCMF," said Entercom Rochester Senior VP/Market Manager Sue Munn. "We're excited to share this significant moment in the station's history and celebrate with the Rochester community who has accompanied us on this journey."
Listeners will also be able to tune-in to "Riffer Madness" to hear iconic guitar riffs in classic rock as their cue to call for the chance to win prizes, such as a WCMF 50th Anniversary electric guitar signed by current WCMF air staff. The year-long commemoration will also include anniversary themed merchandise and a new station logo highlighting the history and music of the past 50 years.
