OAB Elects Al Eschbach, Vance Harrison into Hall of Fame

The OAB Board of Directors has elected two Oklahoma broadcasters for induction into the OAB Hall of Fame -- Sports Broadcaster, Innovator and Educator Al Eschbach (pictured), along with Broadcaster and Industry Advocate Vance Harrison. Eschbach and Harrison will be honored during the OAB Annual Convention on Friday, April 5, at the Skirvin Hotel in Oklahoma City.
Eschbach's broadcasting career began in 1976 as the Sports Director at KTOK/Oklahoma City. In 1985, he moved to crosstown WWLS as a Sports/Talk host. Eschbach is currently heard weekdays on Cumulus Media's WWLS-FM (The Sports Animal) from 4-8pm as part of the "Dominant Duo Show" with Jim Traber and also as part of the "Total Dominance Hour" at 5pm with Jim Traber, Berry Tramel and Dean Blevins.
Eschbach is recognized nationally as a pioneer of the Sports/Talk format. He also had a career as the host of numerous coaches shows from 1973 to 2006. Since 2003, he has been the preeminent educator of Sports Journalism at the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord School of Journalism.
Cumulus Oklahoma City VP/Market Manager Jay Davis said, "Al Eschbach is a true Sports Radio pioneer, and has been the cornerstone of WWLS from the very beginning. We are proud and honored to work alongside this Hall of Famer."
