SiriusXM will again offer listeners nationwide coverage of the Kentucky Derby, the first jewel of thoroughbred racing's 2019 Triple Crown, from Churchill Downs, this Saturday, May 4. Through SiriusXM's agreement with Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN), all Triple Crown races -- the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes -- as well as the Breeders' Cup World Championships, are available on SiriusXM radios and on the SiriusXM app. The wire-to-wire race broadcast of the Kentucky Derby is provided by NBC Sports Radio and produced in partnership with HRRN and Westwood One.
On Saturday, SiriusXM will air more than 11 hours of programming that will provide listeners with day-of news and pre-race analysis, and interviews with jockeys, trainers and owners. Coverage airs on Sirius channel 219, XM channel 201, and channel 964 on the SiriusXM app and begins at 8:00 am ET with a live edition of HRRN's Equine Forum show.
NBC Sports Radio and Westwood One's live call of the 145th "Run for the Roses" will air from 5:00 to 7:30pm ET (post time approximately 6:50pm ET). Coverage from Churchill Downs is hosted by Mike Penna, Hall of Fame jockey Gary Stevens, Kurt Becker, Tom Leach and Jeff Bloom, and NBC Sports' Larry Collmus will call handle the live race call.
