Cumulus Media Promotes Three Vets in Worcester MA

Cumulus Media has promoted three radio professionals to key positions in Worcester, MA. Chuck Perks, Program Director, 100 FM The Pike/WWFX-FM, has been named Operations Manager for Country station 98.9 FM NASH Icon/WORC-FM in Worcester, while Keith Stephens has been promoted to Program Director for 98.9 FM NASH Icon/WORC-FM. Matt Henry moves up to Stephens' previous position as Promotions Director for WXLO, WWFX and WORC-FM from his role as part-time staffer in the Cumulus Worcester Promotions Department.

Under Chuck Perks' programming leadership, Cumulus Worcester's Classic Hits station 100 FM The Pike was voted favorite radio station in Worcester in the 2018 Worcester Telegram Readers Poll. Perks will assume Operations Manager duties for 98.9 FM NASH Icon in addition to his continued role as Program Director for 100 FM The Pike.

Keith Stephens rises from his previous position as Promotions Director for Cumulus Worcester's 104.5 FM XLO/WXLO-FM (Hot AC), 100 FM The Pike/WWFX-FM (Classic Hits) and 98.9 FM NASH Icon/WORC-FM (Country), a post he has held for the past two years. A seasoned radio broadcasting professional with 15 years experience in Country radio in the Boston area, Stephens was previously Assistant Program Director/Music Director for sister station 94.7 WMAS in Springfield.

A native of Western Massachusetts, Matt Henry studied Communications at UMASS Amherst and brings over 9 years of experience with the Cumulus Worcester Promotions Department and Street Teams to his new role of Promotions Director for Cumulus Worcester's three radio stations.

Bob Goodell, Regional Vice President, Cumulus Worcester/Boston/New London, said, "Chuck and I worked together in a previous radio life and he has been a valuable programming partner to have with me here. Keith has a passion for radio and Country, in particular, which makes it exciting for me to put someone like him in the driver's seat of 98.9 NASH Icon. I look forward to seeing how much more these two radio stations can accomplish in Worcester under their leadership."

Goodell added: "Matt has an enthusiasm for radio and promotions of a caliber few could rival. He's a very welcome addition to our team at Cumulus Worcester/Boston." "I'm very excited and proud to continue as Program Director of 100 FM The Pike and in my expanded role as Operations Manager for 98.9 NASH Icon," said Perks. "Great things are happening here at Cumulus Worcester and I can't wait to dig in with Keith Stephens and help NASH Icon grow." Stephens said, "I am thrilled to work with Chuck Perks and with my friend and mentor Charlie Cook again. With the upgraded transmitter and enhanced sound of 98.9 NASH Icon, we are positioned to grow the NASH ICON brand in Worcester and I am truly excited to be a part of that." Henry added, "I've enjoyed working in the promotion department for many years and it's great to get the opportunity to jump behind the steering wheel especially with 104.5 XLO's signal improvements in downtown Boston."
