NRTS Launches Two Radio Talent Institutes Beginning Monday
RADIO ONLINE | Friday, June 14, 2019 |
The TAB Radio Talent Institute kicks off at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville on Monday, as does the Beasley Radio Talent Institute at Emerson College in Boston. As previously reported, BRTI will feature an opening session with Beasley EVP/COO Brian Beasley, speaking to future broadcasters coming from 11 different universities. On the campus of the University of Tennessee on Monday, Larry Stone from StoneCom Radio in Cookeville, TN, will be leading the way at the TAB Radio Talent Institute.
TAB Radio Talent Institute will feature ten days with over three dozen broadcasters teaching in their areas of expertise, including Larry Patrick of Patrick Communications, Tuned In Broadcasting Nashville President/CEO Lester Turner, Summit Media Nashville President/VP of Sales Chris Protzman, Midwest Communications Market Manager Randy Ross, Cumulus VP/Market Manager Ken Salyer, Morning Show Bootcamp's Don Anthony and others, including Cromwell Communications President Bud Walters, who will deliver the closing session.
TAB President Whit Adamson stated, "The student preparation and focus for the Radio Talent Institute is like nothing else we could get involved with. This course gets them ready for graduation and the next step in their careers, which is a valuable asset to any station. They are exposed to all facets of a station and will be capable of sitting down at any broadcast radio or television facility and be prepared to add something. We'd like to thank our signature sponsor, Larry Patrick, and all of our underwriters, Stonecom Radio, Thunderbolt Broadcasting, PEG Broadcasting, Five Star Radio and Holston Valley for helping to make this happen."
Twenty-two students were accepted into the Institute from 8 universities, including the University of Tennessee Knoxville, Tennessee State, Austin Peay State University, Tennessee Tech, Georgia State University, Jackson State Community College, Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, and Dalton State College, Georgia.
