Report: KNWZ's Feingold Diagnosed with Stage Four Cancer
RADIO ONLINE | Thursday, August 29, 2019 |
Alpha Media's KNWZ (K-News 94.3)/Palm Springs air personality Bill Feingold is taking a break from the airwaves after being diagnosed with stage four liver cancer, reports the Palm Springs Desert Sun. Known to his fans as "Bulldog," Feingold started began hosting his own radio show with Kevin Holmes in 2004. In a phone interview, Feingold told the Desert Sun's Brian Blueskye that he understands the reality of his diagnosis -- the cancer has spread to his colon, lungs and bones -- but he hopes to return to radio soon.
"This is the hand I've been dealt," Feingold said, "but I have to keep working." He stressed that he's on short-term disability leave from his position. "Alpha Media is hoping for a semi-miracle so I can come back," he said. "I would come back in a second."
Feingold moved to Palm Springs from Los Angeles in 2000. He's also served on the Palm Springs Human Rights Committee from 2005 to 2009, including as chairman for two years.
